LEW FRIEDLAND HAS 40 YEARS IN THE REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS

Mr. Friedland is Chairman of Miramar Capital, and has successfully built and scaled multiple investment management platforms in the commercial real estate investment and development sector over his forty+ year career, in both private and public markets. Miramar Capital is a privately owned, commercial real estate investment firm specializing in the acquisition, repositioning, and development of industrial, residential, and special situations investments throughout the United States. Prior to Miramar, Mr. Friedland was Managing Director and Head of Industrial of Colony Capital, Inc. and oversaw the Colony Industrial Fund and associated operating platform, a 60 million square foot last-mile distribution portfolio located in 26 US markets. This portfolio was sold in December 2019 for $5.7 billion. Prior to joining Colony in 2014, he was founder and Managing Partner of Cobalt Capital Partners which aggregated, through three institutional closed-end funds, a portfolio of over 30 million square feet of light industrial properties in 16 major U.S. markets. Cobalt was sold to Colony for $1.6 billion in December 2014. Prior to forming Cobalt, he was COO and CIO of American Industrial Properties, a NYSE- listed REIT focused on the R&D/flex property sector. The REIT was successfully liquidated in 2001. Earlier in his career, Mr. Friedland founded Crimson Partners, an opportunistic real estate investment firm and was as a partner at Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Friedland received a BS from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA degree from Harvard University.
