Mr. Friedland is a Managing Partner and CIO of Miramar Industrial. Miramar Industrial is focused on acquiring high-quality, mission-critical industrial assets across the US with long-duration yield supported by high-quality credit tenants.
Until recently Mr. Friedland was a Managing Director of Colony Capital, Inc. and oversaw the Colony Industrial Fund and associated operating platform, a 60 million square foot last-mile distribution portfolio located in 26 US markets. This portfolio was sold in December 2019 for $5.7 billion.
Prior to joining Colony in 2014, he was founder and Managing Partner of Cobalt Capital Partners which aggregated, through three institutional closed-end funds, a portfolio of over 30 million square feet of light industrial properties in 16 major U.S. markets. Cobalt was sold to Colony for $1.6 billion in December 2014. Prior to forming Cobalt, he was COO and CIO of American Industrial Properties, a NYSE- listed REIT focused on the R&D/flex property sector. The REIT was successfully liquidated in 2001.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Friedland founded Crimson Partners, an opportunistic real estate investment firm and was as a partner at Trammell Crow Company. Mr. Friedland received a BS from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA degree from Harvard University.
